Responsibilities

Qualifications and Requirements

  • UK teachers must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to teach in state-maintained schools — achieved via PGCE, School Direct or Teach First.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Completion of an approved teacher training programme (PGCE, School Direct, Teach First, or similar).
  • Good academic record and commitment to professional development.
