Job Description

Academics in Leeds are recruiting a year 1 teacher for one of our schools based in Wakefield- the position will be commencing in January 2026, until the end of the academic year with a possibility of a direct contract at the end of the summer term!

Enthusiastic and motivated ECT's will also be considered for this year 1 teacher position.

The school is looking for a dedicated year 1 teacher with key stage 1 experience. This school has a very supportive SLT and regular provide CPD for all staff.

The ideal year 1 teacher will have the ability to engage pupils with differentiated and creative lessons to suit all abilities.To apply for this year 1 teacher post you will have the following:

Educated to degree level and QTS DBS on the update service A high passion for teaching and working with children who have excellent expectations for attainment and behaviour Self-motivated and determined to do well Year 1 experience Secure understanding of differentiation to challenge children of all abilities* Experience of delivering Phonics
