Quantum Scholars is expanding its network of SEND Subject Tutors across Wokingham and the surrounding area. With a substantial increase in EOTAS and Alternative Provision referrals expected from September 2026, we are now looking to recruit experienced tutors and qualified teachers who can deliver high-quality 1:1 tuition across a range of curriculum subjects.
Many of the young people we support are currently unable to access mainstream education and may have needs relating to SEND, SEMH, autism, ADHD, anxiety, trauma, medical conditions, behavioural challenges, or EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance).
We're particularly keen to hear from tutors and teachers who can confidently deliver 1:1 SEND tuition in one or more of the following areas:
- Primary (KS1 & KS2)
- English
- Mathematics
- Science
- Food & Nutrition
- Performing Arts
Whether you're an experienced classroom teacher looking to step away from mainstream education, a supply teacher seeking greater flexibility, or an established tutor looking to support vulnerable learners, this is an opportunity to make a genuine difference through personalised teaching. Tuition is delivered on a 1:1 basis with both primary and secondary-aged students (up to 16 years old). We will always aim to match you with the subjects, age groups, and learners you feel most confident supporting. Most sessions take place face-to-face within a student's home or a suitable community setting, with occasional online opportunities where appropriate. Hours are flexible and vary according to your availability and local demand. Some tutors choose to work a few hours each week, while others build towards regular ongoing assignments that can be close to full-time.
What We're Looking For
- Experience teaching or tutoring children and young people
- Strong subject knowledge in your specialist area(s)
- Experience supporting learners with SEND is advantageous
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Ability to travel across Wokingham and the surrounding area
What We Offer
- Flexible opportunities around your availability
- Ongoing referrals throughout the academic year
- Meaningful 1:1 teaching with real impact
- Competitive rates, dependent on experience
Please note that applicants must already have the right to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available for these opportunities. If you're passionate about your subject and want to use your expertise to help young people who need it most, we'd love to hear from you.
