Help Young People Rebuild Confidence and Succeed in Education. Quantum Scholars is seeking caring and motivated SEND Study Support Tutors to provide personalised 1:1 support for pupils accessing alternative provision across Wokingham and the wider Berkshire area. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs, helping them develop confidence, improve their study skills, and re-engage positively with learning.

About the Role

You will work with primary and secondary-aged learners who may require additional support due to:

  • SEND
  • Autism (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • SEMH needs
  • Anxiety or school avoidance
  • Medical needs or interrupted education

Sessions take place during school hours in the pupil's home or a suitable community setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored 1:1 study support and learning sessions
  • Support pupils with English, Maths, and general learning skills
  • Build positive and encouraging relationships
  • Adapt resources and activities to meet individual needs
  • Promote confidence, independence, and engagement in education
  • Support learners to overcome barriers to learning

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND or additional needs
  • Background in tutoring, teaching, mentoring, youth work, pastoral support, or similar roles
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Patient, flexible, and resilient approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Full Right to Work in the UK
  • Ability to travel to sessions across Wokingham and surrounding areas
