Are you an experienced SEND or SEMH professional looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference? We are working in close partnership with a well‑established Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Wokingham and are seeking compassionate, dedicated, and experienced SEND/SEMH Tutors to join our growing team. Due to an increasing number of referrals, we are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and helping them achieve positive educational outcomes.

About the Role
You will provide tailored, face‑to‑face tuition to primary and secondary‑aged pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, Disabilities, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Sessions will take place either:
- In the pupil's home
- Within a community setting such as a library or learning hub
You will be responsible for:
- Planning and delivering engaging, personalised learning programmes
- Adapting lessons to suit individual learning styles and needs
- Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and families
- Supporting pupils to develop confidence, resilience, and independence
- Implementing strategies to manage barriers to learning
- Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress
Who You'll Be Supporting
You will work with pupils presenting with a variety of needs, including:
- SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)
- SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs)
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance)
- Anxiety and Mental Health needs
- Behavioural challenges
- Communication and interaction needs
- Other complex learning needs
Many of the pupils you support may have experienced difficulties within mainstream education and require a personalised approach to help them re‑engage with learning.
What We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from Tutors who have:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND and/or SEMH
- A strong understanding of neurodiversity and additional learning needs
- The ability to build rapport with pupils who may be disengaged from education
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- Experience delivering tailored educational support, tutoring, mentoring, or teaching
