Learning & Inclusion Support Assistant Location: Wokingham Salary: £92.59 - £95 per day Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-time, Long-term Are you a graduate who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential? Academics is working closely with a supportive and inclusive primary school in Wokingham that is seeking a committed Learning & Inclusion Support Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is an excellent long-term opportunity for a graduate looking to build valuable experience within education. The role would suit someone considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, counselling, speech and language therapy, child development, or SEN support. As a Learning & Inclusion Support Assistant, you will provide pupils with the individual guidance, encouragement and support they need to engage positively with school life. Working alongside the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team, you will help create an environment where every pupil feels valued, supported and able to succeed. What You'll Be Doing Providing targeted 1:1 support to pupils with SEN, SEMH needs and behavioural challenges Supporting pupils to engage with lessons and overcome individual barriers to learning Delivering and assisting with small-group interventions designed to develop academic skills, confidence and engagement Helping children develop emotional regulation, resilience and positive relationships Encouraging pupils to become more independent and confident in their learning Working closely with class teachers, the SENCO and other professionals to implement effective support strategies Promoting positive behaviour and helping pupils develop successful learning habits Creating a calm, safe and inclusive environment where all pupils have the opportunity to thriveWe're Looking For A graduate with a genuine interest in education, child development or supporting young people Someone who is patient, compassionate and resilient A confident communicator who can build strong and trusting relationships with children Someone who can remain calm, consistent and positive when supporting pupils with additional needs A team player who is keen to learn from experienced teachers and SEN professionals An individual considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, counselling, therapy, mental health, or SENIf you're looking for a rewarding opportunity to begin your career in education and want to gain meaningful experience supporting children with additional needs, this Learning & Inclusion Support Assistant role in Wokingham could be the perfect next step.
