Are you passionate about supporting young people through personalised, 1:1, flexible education? Quantum Scholars is currently seeking compassionate, engaging, and adaptable EOTAS Tutors to provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils accessing Education Other Than At School (EOTAS) provision across Wokingham and the wider Berkshire area. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in a young person's life by helping them rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning, and achieve positive educational outcomes in a setting that works for them. We welcome applications from experienced tutors, teachers, learning mentors, SEN specialists, youth workers, pastoral staff, HLTAs, TAs, intervention staff, and other professionals with experience supporting children and young people with SEND.

About the Role

As an EOTAS Tutor, you will deliver personalised 1:1 sessions to primary or secondary-aged pupils who are currently unable to access mainstream education. Many of the learners we support may present with:

  • SEND
  • Autism (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • SEMH needs
  • Behavioural challenges
  • School refusal or emotionally based school avoidance
  • Anxiety
  • Medical needs

Sessions are delivered during school hours, either within the pupil's home or in suitable community settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, tailored learning sessions that meet individual needs
  • Support pupils both academically and emotionally
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
  • Help learners regain confidence and develop a positive attitude towards education
  • Adapt teaching approaches to suit different learning styles and needs
  • Provide support in core subjects, including English and Maths
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback where required

What We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH, or additional needs
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
  • Background in tutoring, teaching, mentoring, youth work, pastoral care, or intervention support
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Full Right to Work in the UK
  • Ability to travel for in-person sessions across Wokingham and surrounding areas

QTS and formal teaching qualifications are welcomed but are not essential for all opportunities. A degree in a relevant subject area is desirable.
