Quantum Scholars is seeking an experienced and dedicated Learning Mentor to provide 1:1 home-based learning support for a young pupil accessing Education Other Than At School (EOTAS) in Wokingham. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to support a young person in developing essential life skills, confidence, and independence through personalised learning.
The Role
- Provide 6 hours of 1:1 support per week (days to be discussed and confirmed)
- Deliver personalised learning support tailored to the pupil's individual needs
- Build a positive, trusting, and supportive relationship with the learner
- Support engagement, confidence, and independence
- Help the pupil develop practical life skills and literacy
- Support the learner with everyday activities, such as using public transport and visiting local shops
- Monitor progress and provide written feedback where appropriate
- Work independently within a home-based setting
About the Pupil
You will be supporting a young pupil who requires additional assistance with literacy and life skills development. The role involves helping them build confidence in completing everyday tasks and encouraging greater independence within the community.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs
- A patient, nurturing, and flexible approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence working independently
- A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve success
