Quantum Scholars are working closely with a specialist Pupil Referral Unit in Wokingham who are seeking an experienced and passionate EOTAS Computer Science Tutor to support young people currently outside of mainstream education. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to use your Computer Science expertise to engage learners who need a different approach to education. You will be helping pupils rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning, and develop valuable digital and computational skills that can shape their future.

Most learners you will be working with have SEND/SEMH needs and may present with:

  • ADHD
  • Autism
  • Anxiety
  • EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance)
  • Medical needs

This role is perfect for someone who is creative, patient, and confident in adapting Computer Science content to meet individual needs while making learning accessible and meaningful.

The Role

As an EOTAS Computer Science Tutor, you will deliver tailored, engaging, and practical Computer Science sessions to pupils in alternative education settings. You will focus on building confidence and developing foundational and applied digital skills through personalised learning approaches. You will play a vital role in helping students reconnect with education through technology and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging Computer Science tuition tailored to individual learning needs
  • Teach key areas such as coding, digital literacy, algorithms, and computational thinking
  • Adapt lesson content to suit a wide range of abilities and learning profiles
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to support engagement and trust
  • Support learners with SEND/SEMH needs to overcome barriers to learning
  • Track progress and provide feedback where appropriate
  • Create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
  • Encourage creativity, curiosity, and confidence through technology-based learning

Requirements

  • Experience working as a Tutor, Teacher, or EOTAS Practitioner (Computer Science or ICT specialism preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Computer Science principles and curriculum content
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods for individual learners
  • Confident, patient, and resilient approach when working with vulnerable young people
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to transport is desirable
  • Must have a full Right to Work in the UK!
