Quantum Scholars are working with a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Wokingham, who are looking for an experienced Chemistry Tutor to deliver 1:1, in-person tuition for a secondary-aged pupil in Wokingham. This role involves supporting a student currently outside of mainstream education, often due to additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH, behavioural challenges, or medical needs.

About the role:

  • Provide 1:1 Chemistry tuition to a secondary-aged pupil
  • Support a student in alternative provision or EOTAS
  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet the pupil's individual learning needs
  • Sessions typically take place in the pupil's home or a suitable community setting
  • 1 hour per week, starting after Easter and running until the end of the academic year
  • Flexible, part-time hours during school hours

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a real impact, helping the pupil rebuild confidence, develop key academic skills, and support their journey back into education.

Requirements:

  • QTS preferred but not essential
  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, or SEMH
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Full Right to Work in the UK
  • Ability to travel within Wokingham
