If you have a background in care/support work, or you have experience working with children who have additional needs - We would love to hear from you! The Role: Complex Needs - You will be working in a 1:1 setting/small-group setting with children who have complex needs. This includes children with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties) and other additional needs. General Classroom Support - You will assist the teacher in delivering tailored education in pre-formal or semi-formal classes. These students have personalised lessons to support their learning and development. Personal Care - There will be support needed for personal care. A background in care/support work is therefore highly advantageous for this role. Safeguarding - Prioritising the safeguarding of students both inside and outside the classroom, reporting any safeguarding concerns to the designated safeguarding lead (DSL). About you: Passionate - We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with complex needs. As a Complex Needs Support Worker, genuinely wanting to support children's development is essential. Knowledge of SEN - Prior knowledge of conditions such as PMLD and SLD would be advantageous, but is not essential, as long as you are willing to learn. Care/Support Worker - Working as a care/support worker would be extremely ideal for this role, as elements of personal care/moving and handling may be required.
