The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team to provide tailored support to students with a range of additional learning needs.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Supporting students with SEN in the classroom to help them access learning and achieve their individual goals.
  • Assisting with the delivery of personalised learning plans and behaviour support strategies.
  • Working one-to-one and in small groups to build students' confidence, independence and engagement.
  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to monitor progress and adapt support where needed.
  • Promoting a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Providing personal care or mobility support where required.
  • Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with school staff and parents.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable but not essential.
  • A caring, patient and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Qualifications in education, childcare or SEN are advantageous but not required.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them succeed.
