We are proud to be working with an Outstanding Specialist College (Ofsted, November 2019) located in Hillingdon, dedicated to transforming the lives of young people and adults with a variety of special educational needs and/or disabilities.

The college supports learners with a broad spectrum of needs, including profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), complex communication challenges, behavioural difficulties, and specific medical conditions. Each student follows a highly individualised programme tailored to help them achieve their personal goals, gain greater independence, and integrate more fully into their communities.

We are seeking a passionate and creative Lecturer with expertise in PMLD to become a valued member of our friendly and committed team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering well-planned, differentiated lessons that cater to individual and group needs, fostering both progression and a high quality of learning. You should be confident in assessing student needs, delivering appropriate instruction, and measuring progress, all with a genuine commitment to making a positive impact on students' lives. Lessons are thoughtfully designed to reflect student interests, abilities, and needs, making learning both meaningful and engaging.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver effective learning sessions within assigned curriculum areas.
  • Set learning objectives, carry out assessments, record and evaluate student progress.
  • Organise learning experiences that promote development and progression.
  • Uphold a strong commitment to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults.
  • Ensure that all teaching materials and equipment are safe and suitable for use.
  • Manage and request curriculum resources within the allocated budget.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Preferably hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Live in or be within easy commuting distance of Uxbridge.
  • Experience as a Lecturer is desirable but not essential.
  • Previous experience teaching students with special educational needs.
  • Experience working with learners with PMLD.
  • Hold or be working towards a Diploma in Education and Training (or equivalent).
