Responsibilities

  • Support the students with their mental health, helping them to process and understand their emotions.
  • You may provide support in small groups or 1 to 1.
  • Work alongside the class teacher to create a safe and engaging learning environment where students can flourish and meet all their goals.
  • Help to deescalate any high emotions and help students to regulate.
  • Help the class teacher prepare lesson materials and keep the classroom tidy.
  • Support the class teacher with general class duties and assist in preparing lesson materials.
  • Support students with their general workload and intervention plans designed to support mental health needs.
  • Provide 1:1 support and assist during lessons.

Qualifications and attributes

  • Will be confident.
  • Will have a compassionate and positive personality.
  • Will be proactive and take initiative.
  • Will have good problem-solving skills.
  • Will be able to deescalate heightened emotions.
  • Will have an enhanced DBS or be willing to apply for one.
  • Will have an understanding of the importance.
