The Role
- This is a general classroom‑based Teaching Assistant position, supporting teaching staff across a range of subjects and year groups to ensure high‑quality learning experiences for all pupils.
- The role will include some additional support for pupils with mild or emerging SEND needs as part of inclusive classroom practice.
- Supporting teachers in the delivery of high‑quality lessons across the classroom.
- Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and promote pupil progress.
- Assisting with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence, and independence in learning.
- Providing light support for pupils with additional needs, under the guidance of teaching and SEN staff.
- Supporting behaviour management strategies in line with school policy.
- Helping to monitor pupil progress and feeding back observations to teaching staff.
Candidate Profile
- Essential experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to support learning effectively in a classroom environment.
- A proactive, positive, and flexible approach to supporting teaching and learning.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Able to commute to Potters Bar.
