Are you passionate about supporting children with various SEND needs? Do you have experience supporting SEND children either in or out of the classroom? If this sounds like you and you are now looking for your next challenge then we need you! We are currently recruiting an additional teaching assistant for one of our mainstream primary schools based in South Leeds. This is a long-term opportunity starting in September for one term initially. The role supports children across Key Stage 1 with various SEND needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with additional needs, working closely with the class teacher and the SENDCO.
  • Support a small group of pupils as well as the full class when needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with children with SEND, especially autism.
  • Understanding of the needs of SEND pupils.
  • Experience working with children, SEND and/or the care industry.
  • A can-do attitude and a willingness to help in other areas of the classroom.
  • Ability to use initiative and work well under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills with children and other staff members.
