Academics are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a lovely primary school in Barry from June 2025. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting students, particularly those with special educational needs, and will create an inclusive learning environment. This position involves working closely with the Teacher to assist in the delivery of lessons and provide individualised support to students, ensuring they can engage fully with their education.

About the Role:

  • Assist teachers in preparing and delivering engaging lessons tailored to the needs of all students.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students, particularly those with special educational needs, including autism.
  • Help create a positive and nurturing classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and confidence.
  • Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students requiring additional assistance.
  • Facilitate small group activities and tutoring sessions to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Monitor student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to teachers on individual achievements and challenges.
  • Assist in the development of educational materials and resources that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to promote a collaborative approach to education.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in mentoring and supporting children.
