Are you passionate about supporting children’s emotional well-being? Do you have experience working with students to help them build resilience and emotional intelligence? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) to join our team at a supportive and inclusive school in Walton-On-Thames.

As an ELSA, you will work closely with students to support their emotional development and provide one-to-one or small group interventions for children experiencing emotional, social, or behavioural challenges. You will help students build their self-esteem, manage emotions, and improve their social skills, contributing to a positive and nurturing learning environment in Walton-On-Thames.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide emotional and social support to individual students or small groups
  • Deliver tailored ELSA interventions to enhance emotional well-being and resilience
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and SENCO to track and assess student progress
  • Support students with developing key skills in emotional regulation, communication, and social interaction
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and outside agencies to ensure the best possible support for students
About You:
  • Experience working with children in a school setting (ideally as an ELSA or in a similar role)
  • Strong understanding of child development and emotional literacy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to supporting students’ well-being
  • ELSA training (or willingness to complete it) is desirable but not essential
