Overview: This school caters for students aged 11-16.
Full-time, Monday - Friday, Learning Support Assistant role.
Provide classroom support to students across KS3 and KS4, working alongside teaching staff.
Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to support learning and progress.
Support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them access the curriculum and achieve their individual goals.
Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and independence both inside and outside the classroom.
Assist teachers with preparing learning resources and classroom activities.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, the SEN department and pastoral teams to ensure students receive the support they need.
This Learning Support Assistant role in Suffolk offers the opportunity to work in a welcoming and ambitious school with a strong commitment to staff development and student wellbeing.
You'll play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning while gaining valuable experience within a supportive secondary school environment.
What we're looking for: Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational, youth work, care or support setting is desirable.
A genuine passion for supporting students and helping them achieve their full potential.
Experience supporting students with SEND is advantageous but not essential.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy and a positive, proactive attitude.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team and use your own initiative when required.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
