Academics are currently recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic Year 5 primary Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Stoke-on-Trent area, covering a maternity absence from November. This is an exciting opportunity to join a school that is committed to providing a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment, where children are encouraged to develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.

The successful teacher will take responsibility for a Year 5 class and will be expected to deliver engaging, well-planned lessons across the full primary curriculum. You will be supported by a dedicated and collaborative team, with a strong focus on achieving positive outcomes for all pupils.

The Role

  • Full-time Year 5 class teacher
  • Maternity cover commencing November
  • Teaching across the full Key Stage 2 curriculum
  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Monitoring pupil progress and adapting teaching accordingly
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and supporting the wider school community
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experienced in teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5
  • Confident with classroom management and behaviour strategies
  • Able to plan and deliver consistently high-quality lessons
  • Passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential
  • Nurturing, approachable and committed to inclusive education
  • A strong team player who will contribute positively to the wider school

This role would suit an experienced teacher looking for a longer-term maternity placement, as well as teachers who are looking to establish themselves within a supportive Stoke-on-Trent primary school.
