A wonderfully led and resourced Primary School in Stanford-le-Hope is seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant to join after the February half-term on a full-time basis to work with children who have additional needs and need nurturing and support to make their school experience as positive as possible.

Position overview:
  • Teaching Assistant at a mainstream primary school with a February 2026 start (after half term).
  • Long-term contract with the view to going permanent.
  • Term Time Only (Monday - Friday 8:30am-3:30pm).
  • Salary: £88-£100 per day (DOE).
  • Parking available.

This primary school is located in Stanford-le-Hope with excellent transport links and staff parking. They are seeking a Teaching Assistant with a strong willingness to learn and a real desire to work with children with additional needs / SEN.

Responsibilities:
  • Support children with SEN, including 1:1 and in small groups.
  • Assist with planning of activities with the class teacher and the SENCO.
  • Support general classroom duties as a teaching assistant.
  • Be a positive role model, offer encouragement, and promote confidence in pupils.
  • Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Experience of supporting needs such as ADHD, Autism (ASD), Asperger Syndrome, SEMH, Global Delay, MLD, EBD, and Challenging Behaviour is advantageous.
  • Ideal candidate will be passionate about working with children with SEN; graduates are welcome as well as experienced teaching assistants.
  • Willingness to learn and develop through excellent training and support offered by the school.
  • Ability to work 1:1 and in small groups and to collaborate with the class teacher & SENCO.
