School Library Technician / Stone / November Start / Fixed-Term Contract
Academics, a leading education recruitment agency, are currently recruiting on behalf of a school in Stone, Staffordshire, who are looking for a School Library Technician to join their team from November.
This is approx. an 8-week fixed-term position, working Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-4:30pm, and Friday, 9:00am-4:00pm, covering an absence and including a short handover period.
The Role:
- Managing the issuing and returning of books and maintaining accurate library records
- Supporting pupils and staff using the library, including supervising small groups
- Operating reprographic equipment, including printing, photocopying, laminating and binding
- Supporting general administration and IT-based tasks
- Supervising pupils and maintaining appropriate behaviour in the library
- Providing emergency first aid support to pupils with the wider team of first aiders
Requirements:
- Organised, reliable and able to work independently
- Confident working with children and adults
- Experience in an administrative, supervisory, library or school-based role
- Comfortable using IT and reprographic equipment
- Methodical with strong attention to detail
- Able to promote a positive and well-managed environment for pupils
