Are you passionate about championing children with additional needs, such as Autism, and Speech, Language & Communication needs? This specialist school based in East Grinstead is looking for a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to support children and young people with mild to severe learning difficulties. This role is an excellent way to get your 'foot in the door', providing the opportunity to work closely and network with other teams of professionals, including Therapists and Counsellors, gaining relevant experience, and expanding your knowledge and skillset. This role will give you essential experience within a challenging yet rewarding setting.
Career progression routes include SEN Teacher, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist and various Child Psychology and Educational Psychology routes. A common feature for many children and young people with special educational needs is marginalisation and disadvantage, trauma, dysfunctional family relationships, low educational attainment and stigmatisation. Subsequently, they face many barriers in life and are more 'at risk' of negative outcomes. With this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will be instrumental in providing consistency, and equipping children and young people with tools to ensure they feel safe, secure, empowered, and believe that they can succeed in life.
