Academics are seeking a dedicated and engaging Employability Teacher with the skills to prepare learners for employment. You will be joining a successful specialist Post-16 SEMH provision in Southampton. This is a full-time contract to start ASAP on an ongoing/temp to perm contract so please only apply if you are seeking a permanent position.
As an Employability Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging lessons in Functional English (Entry Level to Level 2)
- Support learners in developing core employability skills, including CV writing, interview prep, workplace behaviour etc
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and trauma-informed learning environment
- Support learners' personal and social development alongside their academic progress
The successful Employability Teacher must have:
- Experience of working with young people with SEMH needs or in an alternative education/SEN setting
- Strong knowledge of Functional English and employability frameworks
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PTLLS, DTLLS, CertEd, or equivalent) - or willingness to work towards one
- Resilience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
