We are seeking an enthusiastic Catering Teacher to join a supportive Alternative Provision setting in Southampton from September. You will teach practical Catering skills to students aged 11+, helping them develop confidence, independence and valuable vocational skills as they work towards their future pathways.

QTS is desirable but not essential. We are particularly interested in candidates with strong Catering experience, subject knowledge and a genuine passion for working with young people. This could suit a qualified teacher, experienced Catering professional, Chef, Catering Tutor or Food Technology specialist looking to make a move into education.

The setting offers high staff ratios and a personalised approach, supporting students who may have struggled within mainstream education.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have strong Catering/Food Technology knowledge and practical experience
  • Be passionate about engaging and supporting young people
  • Be confident adapting lessons to individual needs
  • Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Have QTS or relevant teaching experience (desirable, not essential)
