Academics are working with a caring and inclusive primary school in Slough that is looking for a dedicated Autism Intervention Support Assistant to join its team from September. As an Autism Intervention Support Assistant, you will:

  • Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions for pupils with Autism
  • Support children in developing emotional regulation, resilience, and positive coping strategies
  • Build trusted relationships with pupils to encourage confidence, self-esteem, and engagement in learning
  • Monitor progress and contribute to individual support plans alongside the wider school team
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, parents, and external agencies to provide consistent, high-quality support
  • Promote positive behaviour and help create a calm, inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have a genuine passion for supporting children's emotional wellbeing and mental health
  • Be patient, empathetic, and confident in building positive relationships with young people
  • Demonstrate resilience and a proactive approach when supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
