About the Role
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in Doncaster, you will support teaching and learning across the school by delivering pre-planned lessons, leading interventions, and supporting pupils both academically and emotionally. You may provide whole-class cover during teacher absence or PPA time while also working closely with pupils who require additional support. This role is ideal for a confident HLTA who enjoys variety, responsibility, and helping pupils achieve their full potential within a positive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead lessons during PPA cover and teacher absence
- Deliver small group and 1:1 interventions across the curriculum
- Support learning across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 where required
- Promote positive behaviour, confidence, and engagement
- Adapt learning activities to meet pupils' individual needs
- Assist with classroom organisation and learning resources
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff
- Follow safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times
Candidate Requirements
- Level 4 HLTA qualification or degree qualification (essential)
- Experience leading whole-class learning
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Flexible and professional approach
