Academics are recruiting dedicated EYFS Learning Support Assistants to support Nursery and Reception pupils across a range of welcoming schools in Rotherham. This is a temporary, flexible ongoing role, ideal for candidates who are passionate about supporting children during the early stages of their education.
As an EYFS LSA in Rotherham, you will support children within Nursery and Reception classes, helping them to develop key early learning skills through engaging and structured activities. You will work closely with teachers and early years practitioners to create a nurturing environment where children can develop confidence, independence, communication skills, and a positive attitude towards learning. This EYFS LSA role offers the opportunity to gain experience across a variety of settings while maintaining flexibility around your availability.
Key Responsibilities- Support teaching and learning within EYFS classrooms
- Assist with play-based and structured learning activities
- Provide small group and 1:1 support where required
- Encourage positive behaviour and social development
- Help prepare classroom resources and learning environments
- Support children's communication, literacy and numeracy development
- Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, Childcare or Early Years qualification (essential)
- Experience supporting children within EYFS settings desirable
- Good understanding of child development and the EYFS framework
- Patient, caring and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
