Position: Early Years Supply Teacher
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Contract: Temporary, ongoing flexible supply
Pay: £130 - £190 per day (dependent upon experience, training, qualifications and client rate available, paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees)
Start Date: ASAP or from a date that suits you
About the Role
As an Early Years Supply Teacher in Sheffield, your role will involve delivering imaginative and play-based learning linked to the EYFS framework, supporting early communication, social development and independence. You will join caring, collaborative environments and work with both staff and families to help children progress confidently. To work within Nursery, Preschool or Early Years Units, candidates typically require Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS). To teach within Primary School Reception classes, candidates require Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging EYFS learning opportunities
- Support early language, social and emotional development
- Work alongside Early Years practitioners and support staff
- Use observation-based assessments (e.g. EYFS profiles, learning journals)
- Create safe, stimulating and inclusive spaces for young learners
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers
- Adhere to safeguarding and welfare policies
Candidate Requirements
- ✔ EYTS or QTS (Early Years specialism desirable)
- ✔ Recent EYFS experience (Nursery or Reception)
- ✔ Strong understanding of early child development and EYFS curriculum
- ✔ Positive, nurturing and patient approach
- ✔ Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
