As a trusted provider within Hillingdon Council's alternative provision network, we support pupils who are not currently in mainstream education. Many of the students we work with have additional needs, including SEND, ADHD, autism, SEMH, behavioural challenges, or medical conditions.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with individual learners, delivering personalised English sessions that build confidence in reading, writing, and communication skills, while helping pupils re‑engage with education. Tuition typically takes place in the pupil's home or in a suitable community setting. Tutors are responsible for planning and delivering lessons tailored to each learner's needs and ability.

Role Overview
  • Deliver 1:1 English tuition to primary and secondary‑aged pupils outside of mainstream education
  • Flexible, part‑time hours to suit your availability
  • Sessions take place during school hours, so daytime availability is essential
  • Make a meaningful difference to pupils' confidence and academic progress
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred
  • Strong experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, autism, ADHD, or behavioural needs
  • Confidence delivering English across relevant key stages (reading, writing, literacy)
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Ability to travel to Hillingdon for in‑person sessions

Please note: Unfortunately, we are unable to offer Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applications requiring sponsorship will not be considered.

This is an excellent opportunity for English tutors and teachers who are passionate about supporting learners and want the flexibility and impact of delivering personalised 1:1 tuition. If this role sounds of interest, please apply today and a member of our team will be in touch.
