SENCo Assistant – Immediate Start | Full-Time | Birmingham

A specialist post-16 college in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated SENCo Assistant to join their team immediately on a full-time basis. This role offers the potential to become permanent for the right candidate! The institution focuses on supporting learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a creative and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work alongside the SENCo to implement personalised education plans for SEND students.
* Support teaching staff in differentiating curriculum content to meet diverse needs.
* Track and record student progress accurately.
* Provide tailored in-class support, including adapting resources and strategies.
* Act as a liaison between students, families, and staff to ensure effective communication and support.
* Assist with delivering small group or one-to-one interventions.
* (Desirable) Apply Adobe Creative Media tools to enhance learning experiences.

Requirements:

* Valid DBS or willingness to complete one.
* Two professional or character references.
* Experience working in educational settings, preferably with SEND learners.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Flexible, proactive mind-set and a passion for supporting young people with SEND.

Desirable:

* Knowledge of Adobe Creative Media applications (e.g., Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator).
* Experience in creative media education settings.
