SEN Teaching Assistants

Location: Medway

Contract: Part time, Full time, Temporary, Permanent, Day to day

We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join a range of supportive and inclusive schools across Medway. With flexible roles available, day-to-day, long-term, part-time or full-time, you can find a position that suits your availability and career goals.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with a range of SEN needs, adapting learning activities to suit individual needs
  • Assisting with classroom behaviour management, using strategies that promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists to implement EHCPs and tailored support plans
  • Encouraging and motivating pupils to build confidence, independence, and self-esteem
  • Supporting pupils with personal care needs where required (in some settings)

What We\\\’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children with SEN (desirable but not essential)
  • Interest or understanding of autism, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs
  • Knowledge of or interest in behaviour management strategies and emotional support techniques
  • Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (desirable but not essential)
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with pupils
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training or willing to complete it
