Do you have experience working with SEN children? Do you have experience with ASD or ADHD? A lovely primary school in Henleaze is looking for a passionate and dedicated candidate who has experience with SEN/ASD/ADHD to join their team as a SEN Specialist Assistant.

  • £90 - £100 per day, depending on experience
  • Full-time, Monday - Friday 8.30am to 4pm
  • Term time only
  • Bristol - BS9

Your role as SEN Specialist Assistant may include, but not be limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Working with individual learners in the classroom 1:1, or working with individuals or small groups in the Learning Support department.
  • Supporting children's behaviour for learning in the classroom.
  • Helping children with their understanding of the teacher's instructions.
  • Keeping track and recording pupil progress.

At this Primary School you will be well supported and promote teamwork to develop the best structure for the students. This school truly believes in investing in their staff and you will be challenged and supported throughout.

The right candidate:

  • Graduates who have qualified in Psychology, Counselling or Criminology OR a good education background (GCSE's in Maths and English) plus prior experience as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Experience working with SEN children - for example youth work, support work, mental health work or SEN in sport.
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with ASD / ADHD.
  • Resilient and confident to work with challenging behaviour.
