They are seeking a dedicated SEN Science Teacher to join their team and deliver engaging, adapted lessons that support both academic and personal development.

Position: SEN Science Teacher
Location: Chesterfield, Derbyshire
Contract: Full-time, long-term role (Monday-Friday)
Hours: 8:00am - 3:30pm
Pay: £140 - £220 per day (dependent upon experience, training & qualifications - paid via PAYE)
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

As an SEN Science Teacher, you will deliver creative, differentiated lessons across KS3 and KS4 to pupils with ASD and SEMH. You will work within a nurturing, specialised environment where staff collaboration, therapeutic approaches, and pupil-centred practice are central to daily life. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Differentiating content for pupils with ASD, SEMH and complex learning profiles

  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, behaviour specialists and SENCO
  • Track progress and contribute to reviews and personalised learning plans

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
  • Experience teaching Science within a secondary or SEN setting
  • Understanding of ASD, SEMH and trauma-informed approaches
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Calm, resilient and nurturing approach
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
