SEN PE Teacher

A welcoming and inclusive specialist school in Milton Keynes is seeking a dedicated SEN PE Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis from September. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and support pupils with special educational needs through engaging, adaptive, and inclusive physical education lessons that build confidence, resilience, teamwork, and lifelong healthy habits.

Working within a supportive SEN environment, you will play a key role in helping students achieve both their physical and personal development goals, creating positive experiences that encourage participation, independence, and success.

• Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive PE lessons tailored to the individual needs of SEN pupils.
• Adapt sports, activities, and teaching approaches to ensure all students can participate and achieve success.
• Promote physical wellbeing, confidence, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles.
• Support students with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties.
• Create a positive, safe, and structured learning environment that encourages participation and personal growth.
• Assess and monitor student progress, celebrating achievements and adapting support where required.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, pastoral teams, and parents to support pupil development.
• Contribute to extracurricular activities, sports events, and wider school enrichment opportunities where appropriate.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent PE specialist with experience teaching Physical Education across Key Stages.
• Experience working with students with special educational needs, or a strong desire to develop within an SEN setting.
• Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
• Creative, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
• Strong commitment to inclusion and pupil wellbeing.
• Passion for helping young people develop confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards physical activity.
