Academics is working with a welcoming primary school in Slough that is looking to appoint an SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated team. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide tailored support to pupils who require additional emotional, behavioural, and learning support within a nurturing and inclusive school environment.
As an SEMH Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them build confidence, regulate their emotions, and engage positively with learning throughout the school day.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils with SEMH needs through tailored 1:1 and small group interventions
- Encouraging children to develop emotional regulation, resilience, and positive coping strategies
- Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and pastoral staff to deliver consistent support
- Implementing behaviour support strategies and contributing to personalised intervention plans
- Promoting a positive, inclusive, and emotionally supportive learning environment
