About the Role

Part-time, flexible one-to-one tuition for secondary-aged students. Subjects include English, Maths, Science, and Humanities (subject specialism required). Off-site education delivered locally within the Wokingham area. Start date: February, with work available until at least September and likely beyond. Hours may vary day to day, allowing flexibility around other commitments. Tutors will be supported by and report to our SENDCo.

Student Needs & Focus

  • Tutors will support students across KS3 and KS4, with work including:
  • Subject-specific support aligned to the national curriculum.
  • Curriculum reinforcement and exam preparation where appropriate.
  • Confidence-building and engagement-focused learning.
  • Re‑engagement with education for students who may be disengaged.

Students may present with a range of needs, including SEN and/or SEMH. Tutors must therefore be patient, adaptable, and confident in building strong, trusting relationships with young people.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status preferred, or significant experience tutoring secondary-aged students.
  • Ability to teach at least one secondary subject (English, Maths, Science, or Humanities).
  • Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
  • Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred).
  • Access to a car and willingness to travel locally.
  • Experience supporting students with SEN and/or SEMH is advantageous.

Pay

Pay equivalent to classroom teacher rates. Competitive remuneration based on experience and qualifications.
