Quantum Scholars are seeking qualified Secondary teachers and experienced tutors to deliver alternative provision tuition across the London Borough of Hillingdon.

Quantum Scholars have recently been approved by Hillingdon Council as a provider of alternative provision, supporting secondary-aged pupils who are not currently accessing mainstream education. This role involves a combination of one-to-one and small-group tuition, delivered either on school sites or in off-site, non-educational settings.

We are particularly keen to hear from secondary-trained educators, especially those able to deliver Maths, English, Science and/or Humanities. This role is ideal for secondary educators seeking flexible, part-time work as an alternative to mainstream classroom teaching, while continuing to be paid at equivalent classroom teacher rates.

⚠️ Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available. ⚠️

Role responsibilities

  • Provide alternative provision tuition for secondary-aged pupils across Hillingdon.
  • Deliver one-to-one and small-group sessions.
  • Deliver sessions on school sites or off-site in community or non-educational settings.
  • Support pupils who may present with a range of needs, including SEMH, anxiety, or school refusal.
  • Work part-time with flexible hours, dependent on pupil and placement requirements.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred, or substantial secondary tutoring experience.
  • Enhanced DBS (Update Service desirable).
  • Ability to travel locally within Hillingdon.
  • Experience working within alternative provision or with SEMH pupils is highly advantageous.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and a flexible, adaptable teaching approach.

Pay

Paid on an hourly basis. Rate dependent on experience and qualifications.
