About the Secondary Teaching Assistant role:
- Provide extra support to students with special educational needs and those for whom English is an additional language.
- Working under the direction of teaching staff to deliver and adapt learning activities for pupils one to one or in small groups.
- Supervise pupils during break periods.
- Build positive relationships with students to promote their academic success and emotional well-being.
- Encourage students to develop self-confidence, resilience, and independence.
The right candidate:
- Maths and English GCSE (Grade A*-C / 9-4) or equivalent.
- Extensive prior experience within an education establishment as a learning support assistant, teaching assistant, unqualified teacher etc.
- Possess good behaviour management skills and remain calm under pressure.
- Be confident with ICT skills, particularly Microsoft packages.
