A highly supportive specialist school in Salisbury is looking for an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team ASAP.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to help pupils access their education while supporting their wider social, emotional and personal development.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Helping children with ASD, ADHD, learning difficulties and other additional needs
  • Supporting pupils to access lessons and complete learning activities
  • Encouraging communication, independence and social development
  • Helping pupils manage emotions and develop positive behaviour
  • Providing consistent encouragement and reassurance throughout the school day
  • Creating a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment

The school places a strong emphasis on understanding each pupil as an individual and adapting support to their specific needs. You will have the opportunity to develop valuable practical experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant while working as part of a dedicated and collaborative team.

This role would be ideal for a graduate, aspiring teacher, experienced Teaching Assistant or someone with previous experience working with children who is looking to move into a specialist SEN environment.
