Academics are currently looking for enthusiastic and committed SEN Teaching Assistants to support a number of our client schools across Thanet. With a variety of specialist settings available, there are excellent opportunities for candidates with different levels of experience to find the right environment for them.
Our schools support pupils with a broad range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), ADHD, communication and interaction needs, and complex learning difficulties. The role will involve working closely with pupils and teaching staff to ensure every child receives the individual support they need.
Your day-to-day responsibilities could include:
- Providing 1:1 support
- Assisting with small-group activities
- Supporting pupils within lessons
- Helping children develop their confidence, independence and social skills
You will work as part of a supportive team and play an important role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
We're looking for individuals who are compassionate, patient and adaptable, with the ability to understand that every pupil is different. SEN experience is a strong advantage, but we are also keen to hear from candidates with transferable experience from education, childcare, care, youth work, mentoring, sports coaching or similar support-based roles.

What we're looking for:
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Previous experience within SEN is advantageous
- A caring, patient and consistent approach

- Confidence working collaboratively with teachers and support staff
- A genuine passion for working with children with additional needs
- An enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one
