Phase: KS1 & KS2

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate High Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Rochester, supporting pupils with high SEN needs.

The successful candidate will be confident working on a 1:1 basis and passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

The role will involve:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with high additional needs
  • Supporting children across KS1 and KS2
  • Helping pupils access learning and develop their independence
  • Supporting with behaviour, emotional regulation and pastoral needs where appropriate
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children with high SEN needs
  • Is confident providing 1:1 support
  • Can work effectively across both KS1 and KS2
  • Is patient, caring, resilient and adaptable
  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Holds a full Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or is willing to apply for a new Enhanced DBS
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
