We are seeking a dedicated Reflection Room Officer to join a welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in South London from September.
This is a full-time position, ideal for someone with experience in behaviour support, pastoral care, youth work or education who is passionate about helping students make positive choices.
The successful candidate will oversee the school's Reflection Room, providing students with a structured environment where they can reflect on their behaviour, complete academic work and receive guidance to support a successful return to lessons.
Responsibilities
- Supervise students referred to the Reflection Room throughout the school day.
- Promote a calm, purposeful and respectful learning environment.
- Encourage students to reflect on their behaviour and develop strategies for making positive choices.
- Support students in completing classwork provided by teaching staff.
- Liaise closely with pastoral leaders, teaching staff and senior leadership regarding student progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behaviour and interventions.
- Build positive relationships with students whilst maintaining clear boundaries and high expectations.
Qualifications
- Experience working with secondary‑aged students in a school, youth work or similar setting.
- Excellent behaviour management and communication skills.
- The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- A patient, resilient and empathetic approach.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their full potential.
- Residence within or ability to travel to South London.
