A supportive and inclusive Specialist School in Reading is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This rewarding role will see the SEMH Teaching Assistant working closely with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support to access education successfully.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs
  • Providing 1:1 and small group interventions
  • Helping students develop confidence, resilience, and self-esteem
  • Assisting with emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
  • Supporting learning activities both inside and outside the classroom
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Promoting a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment

The ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant will be calm, patient, and enthusiastic, with a genuine passion for supporting children who face additional challenges. Experience in education, youth work, care, mental health support, coaching, or similar fields would be advantageous.
