A highly regarded and well-resourced Primary School in Basildon is seeking a dedicated and nurturing SEN Teacher to join their exceptional team, within their Autism Provision. This is a full-time long-term position, available to start from September 2026.

The provision supports children and young people with ASD, with the aim of integrating them back into mainstream education. Every pupil is unique, and the school prides itself on offering a holistic, child-centred approach that includes a multi-disciplinary team, specialist equipment, and purpose-built facilities.

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering meaningful and creative learning experiences, with a strong emphasis on communication, sensory engagement, and life skills. PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • SEN Teacher UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent) is essential
  • Experience teaching pupils with ASD or complex needs preferred
  • Confident using alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton, AAC)
  • Patient, resilient, and genuinely passionate about SEN education
  • Able to work collaboratively with LSAs, therapists, and families
  • Open to ECTs with SEN placement experience and a genuine interest in PMLD
