About the Role
As a Sociology Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils both in the classroom and through 1:1 support. You will help students feel confident, supported, and engaged throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide in-class and 1:1 support for pupils with ASD and other additional educational needs
- Support pupils with their social, emotional, and academic development
- Assist teachers with classroom activities and learning resources
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement
- Build trusting and supportive relationships with pupils
- Help maintain a calm, inclusive, and positive learning environment
Requirements
- A degree in Sociology or a related subject
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
- SEN experience is beneficial
- Experience providing 1:1 support is preferred
- A patient, nurturing, and reliable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible, proactive, and dependable
