About the Role

This Primary HLTA role in Doncaster offers the opportunity to play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You will work closely with teachers and senior leaders to provide classroom cover, deliver targeted interventions, and support pupils across the primary curriculum. The role may include leading lessons during PPA cover, supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, and helping to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment where all pupils can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons during teacher PPA time and absence
  • Support pupils through whole-class, small group, and 1:1 learning
  • Deliver targeted interventions to raise attainment and engagement
  • Promote positive behaviour and classroom expectations
  • Prepare classroom resources and learning materials
  • Provide feedback on pupil progress and participation
  • Support pupils with additional needs where required
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and leadership teams
  • Follow safeguarding and school procedures at all times

Candidate Requirements

  • Level 4 HLTA qualification or degree (essential)
  • Previous experience delivering lessons and leading learning
  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Confident, adaptable, and proactive approach
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
