The Role
As the School Caretaker, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance and security of the school premises. Working as part of a friendly team, you’ll ensure the buildings and grounds provide a safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Opening and locking the school site each day.
- Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs and general DIY tasks.
- Maintaining the cleanliness, safety and presentation of the buildings and grounds.
- Completing regular health and safety and fire safety checks.
- Setting up rooms for meetings, assemblies and school events.
- Liaising with contractors and overseeing works carried out on site.
- Reporting and resolving maintenance issues where appropriate.
