Learning Mentor/Pastoral Support Assistant

Academics are seeking two empathetic, passionate and hard-working Pastoral Support Assistant's/Learning Mentor's to carry out a full-time, temp to perm contract in a secondary school in Lymington. As a Learning Mentor, you will be required to work in the schools' Alternative Provision with students who are at risk of exclusion, and students looking to go through the EHCP process.
The Alternative Provision which is set on the school site caters for up to 10 pupils, 5 to each class. The classrooms follow a nurture model. They have separate booths for pupil to work from, as well as desk and sofas which creative a calm, inviting environment.
The purpose for 50% of pupils is to transition them back into the main classroom full-time, whereas the other 50% will go through the ECHP process, where you will be required to support in documenting evidence and putting together education plans for the pupils which will include online learning.
The suitable Learning Mentor will be able to support secondary aged pupils with their lessons, predominately core subjects so you must have a C/4 or above in Maths and English. You will also be someone who is calm, nurturing and good at building positive relationships with pupils, especially those with complex needs.
This is a full-time position starting ASAP, working 8.30am - 4pm. The role pays in line with HLTA banding which is between 25,000 = 36,500 FTE/ 18,269 - 26,673 TT. Whilst on supply, the daily rate will vary between 95 -137, dependent on experience.
