Role Details:

  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)
  • Pay: £95 - £105 per day
  • Start Date: September 2026 (trial days available now)
  • Contract: Monday to Friday, term-time only

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant in this specialist setting, you will support pupils aged 4-16 with profound and multiple learning difficulties, complex medical needs, and physical disabilities. Many pupils are non-verbal and require high levels of support with communication, mobility, and daily care. You'll work closely with a skilled multidisciplinary team, gaining hands-on training and making a meaningful difference every day.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs
  • Supporting pupils with communication using methods such as PECS, Makaton, and sensory approaches
  • Assisting with personal care, including feeding, toileting, and hygiene, delivered with dignity and respect
  • Supporting mobility, including use of hoists and specialist equipment (training provided)
  • Assisting with sensory-based learning and therapeutic activities
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, nurses, and external professionals
  • Helping to create a safe, nurturing, and highly structured learning environment
